The seat in South Carolina’s 109th State House District is vacant after Democratic Rep. Deon Tedder was elected to the state senate back in a November 2023 special election. The 109th District covers portions of Charleston and Dorchester counties. Two Democrats filed to fill the vacancy and will face off in a primary that will decide the district’s next representative as no Republicans filed to run. Polls close at 7 p.m. (EST).
