The seat in Minnesota State House District 52B is vacant after Rep. Ruth Richardson resigned back in September to focus on her role as president and CEO of Planned Parenthood North Central States. District 52B lies in the southern Twin Cities suburbs in Dakota County, and is generally considered to be a safe DFL district. Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School Board Member Bianca Virnig emerged from the four-person DFL primary on November 16. She faces Republican Cynthia Lonnquist who was uncontested in her primary and making her third run for this seat. Former Chairman of the Minnesota Libertarian Party Charles Kuchlenz is also on the ballot. Polls close at 8 p.m. (CST). We will have the election results below once they do.
