The seat in Massachusetts’ Worcester & Hampshire State Senate district is vacant after Democrat Anne Gobi resigned to take a job as the Massachusetts Director of Rural Affairs. The district covers 22 towns in central Massachusetts including Gardner, Holden, and a small part of Worcester. Two Republicans and only one Democrat filed to run in their respective primaries. Included in the field are Democratic state Rep. Jonathan Zlotnik, Republican state Rep. Peter Durant, and Bruce Chester who ran against Rep. Zlotnik back in November 2022. Polls close at 8 p.m. (EDT). We will have the election results below once they do.
