Preliminary RCV Results from the NYC Primary and more

June 29, 2021 by Max Gowins

NYC Primary Results Update

New York City Board of Election has released preliminary ranked-choice voting (RCV) results from last week’s primary election. The results contain none of the 125,419 absentee Democrat ballots that have been returned to the NYC Board of Elections as of 7:38 p.m. (EDT) today, only in-person votes. Today is the last day the Board of Elections can receive an absentee ballot.

The results below show the in-person ballot results after they have gone through the full RCV tabulation process. Again, these results contain no absentee ballots and may change significantly as those are tabulated.

This was the final total released yesterday before the Board of Election withdrew them.

The next results show the comptroller Democratic primary in-person voting results after they have gone through the full RCV tabulation process. Again, these results contain no absentee ballots and may change significantly as those are tabulated.

Bonus Coverage: California State Assembly District 18 Special Primary

We will also have results from the special primary for the open seat in California’s 18th State Assembly district, which covers most of Oakland and all of San Leandro and Alameda city. The seat is open after Rob Bonta was appointed California Attorney General by Governor Gavin Newsom. Special elections in California use blanket primaries where candidates from all parties compete on the same ballot. If no candidate achieves a 50%+1 majority of the vote, the top-two finishers move onto an August 31 general election. We will have results once polls close at 8 p.m. (PDT)
