Early voting turnout has been higher than normal for Louisiana and they are expected to be reported shortly after polls close. As always, be careful reading too much into them.

Remember this is an all party primary, so if no candidate eclipses the 50% mark tonight the top two vote-getters will head to a runoff election on Saturday, November 16th.
Incumbent Democrat John Bel Edwards is close to winning outright in pre-election polling but the two main Republican candidates, businessman Eddie Rispone and Rep. Ralph Abraham, are vying for second place and hoping to force the runoff. In the case of a runoff we will not indicate any “winners” on the display below until we know both of the candidates who will advance.
