The seat in Minnesota State House District 52B is vacant after Rep. Ruth Richardson resigned back in September to focus on her role as president and CEO of Planned Parenthood North Central States. District 52B lies in the southern Twin Cities suburbs in Dakota County, and is generally considered to be a safe DFL district. Four candidates are vying for the DFL nomination. The winner will face Republican Cynthia Lonnquist and Libertarian Charles Kuchlenz in a December 5 general election. They were the only members of their respective parties to file to run for the vacancy. Polls close at 8 p.m. (CST). We will have the election results below once they do.
