Voters in Memphis elected a new mayor and were able to fill 10 of the 13 city council seats up in their October 5 general election. In 3 city council districts, however, no candidate achieved a 50%+1 majority of the vote and thus went to a runoff election. City Council Districts 2 and 3 are open with no incumbents running. In District 7, City Councilor Michalyn Easter-Thomas was pulled into a runoff after facing a crowded general election field. She faces local businessman Jimmy Hassan. Polls close at 7 p.m. (CST). We will have the election results below once they do.
