Jacksonville
It’s Election Day in Duval County, Florida where voters are heading to the polls to pick their next Mayor along with many other local offices. Duval County has a city-county consolidated government meaning that all residents of Duval County get to vote in the mayoral election, not just those that live within the Jacksonville city limits. With Republican incumbent Mayor Lenny Curry term-limited, the Mayor’s office is wide open. Seven candidates made the ballot, as well as one certified write-in candidate. Make sure you check out Nick Field’s rundown of the top contenders before polls close tonight. For all contests, if no candidate receives a 50%+1 majority of the vote, the top two vote-getters will move on to a May 16th general election.
