We have Saturday elections in Louisiana. Voters are heading to the polls to decide three statewide ballot questions. Today would have also been the runoff election day in the state, however, none of the federal or state-level races required a runoff. The first ballot question voters will be deciding, Amendment 1, asks if people who are not citizens of the United States should be allowed to vote in Louisiana elections. This mainly pertains to local elections. Voters in Ohio overwhelmingly passed a similar amendment back on November 8. The other two ballot questions, Amendments 2 and 3, ask whether the state should require a confirmation from the state Senate for appointees to the State Civil Service Commission and the State Police Commission. We will have the election results below once polls close at 8 p.m. CST.
