Voters in Texas’s 6th Congressional District are again heading to the polls today to vote in a runoff for the special election back in early May. Texas 6th covers all of Ellis and Navarro Counties, as well as southeastern Tarrant County. The seat is open after Rep. Ron Wright passed away after a battle with cancer further complicated by COVID-19. His widow, Susan Wright, along with freshman state Rep. Jake Ellzey, both Republicans, advanced from a field of 23 candidates in the special election after no single candidate received a 50%+1 majority of the vote. Susan Wright has been endorsed by former President Trump and Senator Ted Cruz, while state Rep. Ellzey is endorsed by Congressman Dan Crenshaw and former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
