Voters in 60 of Ohio’s 88 counties headed to the polls today to vote in local primaries and on various ballot issues. We will be following the Cincinnati Mayoral primary which is open since the current incumbent mayor is term-limited. The nonpartisan primary features a field of six candidates which has been pared down by scandals. The candidates include Gavi Begtrup, a former policy advisor to Rep. Gabby Giffords; David Mann, a two-time former Mayor of Cincinnati and former Congressman for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District; Aftab Pureval, the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts and 2018 Democratic nominee for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District (the closest Congressional race in Ohio that year); and State Senator Cecil Thomas. The top two finishers move onto a general election on November 2. We will have updated election results for you as they come in here. Polls close across Ohio at 7:30 p.m. (EDT)
