Welcome to election day 2019.
We’ll once again have livestream coverage with the DDHQ election team starting at 6pm eastern on Twitch, YouTube, Periscope, and Facebook.
The two big races we’ll be tracking today are of course the races for governor in Kentucky and Mississippi. We’ll be covering those races on our results page. If you don’t already have a free account, be sure to set one up now so you’re ready to go tonight.
Kentucky polls close at 6pm eastern in most of the state (some of the state’s western counties are in the central time zone and close an hour later).
We expect the first votes to come in within 15-30 minutes after poll closing time.
Among the counties to watch are: Bath, Elliott, Kenton, Pike, Nelson, and Woodford. These are counties where Republican Governor Matt Bevin and Democratic Attorney General Andy Beshear ran close in their respective races in 2015.
In Mississippi polls close at 7pm central/8pm eastern.
First votes will be coming in within 20-30 minutes after that.
Key counties here are Alcorn, Forrest, Lee, Madison, Prentis, and Yazoo.
The team at Medium Buying (@mediumbuying) has once again begin tracking the broadcast spending in Kentucky and Mississippi.
